How to Draw a Crocus
Draw a crocus in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the middle petal.
Step 1: The middle petal
A little above the middle of your paper draw a tall pointed petal standing up, like a fat candle flame.
Step 2: 2 side petals
Either side draw 2 more pointed petals leaning out, from the same bottom spot, tucked behind the middle one.
Step 3: Petals behind
In the 2 gaps draw 2 more petal tips peeking out from behind, a little shorter.
Step 4: The stem
From under the petals, draw 2 lines down for the stem, stopping low where the ground will go.
Step 5: Grass leaves
Either side of the stem, draw a long pointed grass blade fanning up. Add a short one behind on the left.
Step 6: Leaf stripes
Draw one thin line up the middle of each grass blade, starting near the bottom and stopping before the tip.
Step 7: A bud
To the right, draw a pointed bud with a fold. From under it, draw 2 stem lines, stopping low.
Step 8: The ground
Draw a soft, gently sagging ground line across the bottom, just under the stems.
Step 9: Lilac and purple
Go over your lines. Colour the 2 petal tips behind lilac, then the other 3 petals and the bud purple.
Step 10: Green leaves
Colour the stems and all the grass blades leaf green, and your crocus is done!
