How to Draw a Gerbil
Draw a gerbil in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top draw a big soft bun for the head, widest at the cheeks, with a soft round chin.
Step 2: Tall oval ears
On top of the head draw 2 tall oval ears poking up. Add a smaller oval inside each.
Step 3: Two shiny eyes
Below the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes, one eye apart. Black dot and shine in each.
Step 4: Muzzle and nose
Under the eyes draw a small round muzzle. Near its top draw a little round nose.
Step 5: A little smile
Under the nose draw a tiny smile curve, as wide as the nose.
Step 6: Small round body
Start under the left cheek. Draw a round cushion body down and round, back up to the right cheek.
Tip Keep it narrower than the head, so the head looks biggest.
Step 7: Fists and arms
Under the chin draw 2 round fists touching. From under each cheek draw a short arm down to its fist.
Step 8: Cream tummy
Under the fists draw a big wide oval for the tummy patch, stopping just above the bottom of the body.
Step 9: Feet on the ground
Draw a ground line under the body. At each bottom corner draw a plump bun foot sitting on the ground.
Step 10: Long tufted tail
From the body's right side draw a long thin tail down to the ground, curling up. Add a small tuft.
Step 11: Whiskers
From each side of the muzzle draw 3 thin whiskers across the cheek, stopping well before the head's edge.
Step 12: Pink and cream
Colour the ear insides, nose, fists and feet pink. Colour the muzzle and tummy patch cream.
Step 13: Tan fur
Colour the head, ears, body, arms and tail tan, around the pink and cream. Leave the eyes white.
