How to Draw Crochet
Draw crochet in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the ball of yarn.
Step 1: The ball of yarn
In the middle draw one big round circle, as wide as your hand. Leave room on the right.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the ball draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 3: Big smile
Under the eyes draw a wide open smile like a D on its back. Add a tongue and 2 cheeks.
Step 4: Yarn over the top
Start on the ball's left edge. Curve over above the eyes to the right edge. Add a second strand below.
Step 5: Yarn under the chin
Start on the left edge below the cheek. Curve under the smile to the right edge. Add another below.
Step 6: Yarn round the sides
Between the top and bottom strands, draw 2 curves down the left side. Do the same on the right.
Step 7: The crochet hook
From low down, draw a long stick leaning on the ball's right side, with a tiny J hook on top.
Step 8: Loose strand
Start on the ball's right edge, below the middle. Draw a loose strand wiggling out, stopping low on the hook.
Step 9: Ground line
Start low on the ball's left edge. Draw a ground line out left, then one out right to the hook.
Step 10: Wood hook, pink cheeks
Colour the crochet hook wood brown. Colour the cheek ovals and the tongue pink.
Step 11: Purple yarn
Colour the whole ball of yarn purple around the pink cheeks and the mouth. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Black mouth
Colour the inside of the mouth black, leaving the pink tongue, and your crochet is ready!
