How to Draw a Portugal Flag
Draw a portugal flag in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.
Step 1: The flag pole
On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to near the top.
Step 2: Ball on top
Put a small round ball on the very top of the pole.
Step 3: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Wave the top edge out to the right, come down, and wave back.
Tip Make the flag wide: it is one and a half times as long as it is tall.
Step 4: The big circle
Draw a big circle a little left of the middle of the flag. Leave a gap above and below.
Tip Go slowly and turn your paper as you draw. No flat bits and no corners.
Step 5: The colour line
Start on the top edge. Draw straight down to the circle. Carry on below it to the bottom edge.
Tip The line splits the flag into a short side by the pole and a long side.
Step 6: The shield
Inside the circle draw a shield: a flat top, 2 straight sides and a round bottom.
Tip Keep the shield in the middle, with the same gap on both sides.
Step 7: The small shield
Inside the shield draw a smaller shield, the same shape.
Step 8: Ground line
Draw a long flat ground line under the pole, from the left side to the right side.
Step 9: Yellow circle
Colour the ball on the pole yellow. Colour the big circle yellow, around the shield.
Tip Yellow is the lightest colour, so it goes first.
Step 10: Grey pole
Colour the pole grey.
Step 11: Green side
Colour the short side of the flag green, from the pole to the line and round the circle.
Step 12: Red side
Colour the long side of the flag red. Colour the band round the small shield red too.
Step 13: Five blue dots
On the small white shield colour 5 blue dots in a plus shape. Go over your lines.
Tip Your Portugal flag is waving!
