How to Draw a Crested Gecko
Draw a crested gecko in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and body.
Step 1: Head and body
On the left, draw head and body in one line: broad round head, plump back, round tummy.
Tip The head is short and wide, like a triangle with round corners.
Step 2: Huge eye
Draw one huge circle eye filling the front of the head. Add a tall black slit pupil and a shine.
Tip The pupil is more than half the eye.
Step 3: Grin and nostril
From the snout tip, draw a grin back under the eye, turning up at the end. Dot a nostril.
Step 4: Two bent legs
Start under the neck. Draw a short bent leg to 3 round toes and back up. Add a back leg.
Tip Fat at the top, thin at the ankle. Rub out the tummy line across the top of each leg.
Step 5: The branch
Start on the left. Draw a long branch under the toes, round the right end, and back.
Step 6: Curling tail
Start behind the back leg. Curl a tail up to a point and back. Rub out the body line inside.
Step 7: Spiky fringe
On top of the head, draw a row of pointy spikes like eyelashes. Draw smaller spikes along the back.
Tip Every spike starts and ends on the outline.
Step 8: Tan spikes
Colour all the spikes tan.
Step 9: Ginger gecko
Colour the head, body, legs and tail ginger. Leave the eye white.
Step 10: Wood brown branch
Colour the branch wood brown. Your crested gecko is done!
