How to Draw a Dancing Cat
Draw a dancing cat in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big soft head.
Step 1: Big soft head
Near the top, draw a wide, soft head shape. Make it flatter on top and round at the cheeks.
Tip Leave room above for the ears and below for the dancing body.
Step 2: Pointy ears
On the top corners draw 2 pointy ears. Put a smaller pointy shape inside each one.
Step 3: Happy eyes
In the middle of the head draw 2 big oval eyes. Add a black pupil and a white shine.
Step 4: Nose, smile, whiskers
Draw a small triangle nose with a W smile under it. Add 2 short whiskers on each cheek.
Step 5: Egg body
Under the head draw an egg shape for the body. Draw a tall oval tummy patch inside it.
Step 6: Dancing arms
Draw 2 arms with bent elbows, one up and one down. End each in a round paw with 2 toes.
Tip Each arm bends at the elbow, like yours.
Step 7: Kicking legs
Draw one leg down to stand on. Kick the other leg out with a bent knee. Add paws and toes.
Step 8: Tail and stripes
From the hip, swing a long curly tail out and up. Draw 3 short stripes on the forehead.
Step 9: Dance floor
Start left of the standing paw and draw a ground line under it, across to the right.
Step 10: Cream patches
Colour the tummy patch and all 4 paws cream. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Pink ears and nose
Colour the inside of each ear pink. Colour the little nose pink too.
Step 12: Orange fur
Colour the head, ears, body, arms, legs and tail orange, around the cream and pink. Your cat is dancing!
