How to Draw a Bilby
Draw a bilby in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and snout.
Step 1: Head and snout
On the left of your paper, draw a round head that narrows to a long pointy snout.
Tip Leave lots of room above the head for very tall ears.
Step 2: Two huge ears
On top of the head, draw a very tall ear leaning back, with a leaf inside. Add one behind it.
Tip Each ear is taller than the head.
Step 3: Eye, nose and smile
Draw a big eye up high, with a dot and a shine. Add a nose tip and a smile.
Step 4: Long back foot
Leave a gap under the head. Draw a long flat foot with a round heel and 2 toe lines.
Tip A bilby's back foot is long, like a bunny's.
Step 5: Back and tummy
Start behind the ears. Draw a round back down to the heel. Draw the tummy from chin to foot.
Step 6: Big back leg
Start on the top of the back. Draw a big C down to the foot for the folded back leg.
Step 7: Front leg
From the chest, draw a short front leg down to a round paw with 2 toes. Stop on the tummy.
Step 8: Long tail
From the rump, draw a long tail up to a point and back. Add a curved line near the tip.
Tip Make the tail thick at the rump and thin at the tip.
Step 9: The ground
Draw a flat ground line under the paw and the foot, from left of the nose to past the tail.
Step 10: Peach and pink
Colour the inside of the front ear peach and the nose pink.
Step 11: Grey fur
Colour the bilby grey, around the peach and pink, but not the tail. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Black tail
Colour the tail black, but leave the tip white. Go over your lines and your bilby is done.
