How to Draw a Teddy Bear

Step 1: Big round head

Near the top, draw a big egg on its side with fat cheeks. It is almost half the bear.

Tip The top is narrower than the cheeks, and the chin is narrower again.

Step 2: Round ears and tuft

At 10 and 2 o'clock, start on the head and draw a round ear back to it. Add inner curves.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the ears. Add 3 soft fur bumps on top.

Step 3: Two big eyes

Below the middle of the head, draw 2 big round eyes close together. Add black pupils with a shine.

Step 4: Big soft nose

Under the eyes, draw a wide oval poking past the chin. Add a black triangle nose inside it.

Tip The oval is half as wide as the head. Rub out the chin inside.

Step 5: Smile and tongue

Start under the nose. Draw a line down, then a W smile that stops in the oval. Add a tongue.

Step 6: Round belly

Start under the left cheek. Draw a pear body, widest at the bottom, and stop under the right cheek.

Tip The body is narrower than the head, with a flat bottom.

Step 7: A heart to hug

In the middle of the tummy, draw a heart: 2 round bumps on top and a point at the bottom.

Step 8: Hugging arms

Start under each cheek. Draw a fat sausage arm down the side, bending in to a mitten hugging the heart.

Tip Rub out lines inside the arm. Add a toe line to each mitten. Round ends, no points.

Step 9: Legs and feet

Halfway down each side, draw a round C leg poking out. Under it draw a fat flat foot, toes out.

Tip The foot is a long flat loaf, a little lifted at the heel.

Step 10: Toes and ground

Draw 2 short toe lines on each foot. Start left of the feet and draw a ground line under both.

Step 11: The bow

Under the chin, draw a round knot with a teardrop loop on each side for a bow.

Step 12: Cream nose, pink bow

Colour the oval around the nose cream, and the bow and the tongue pink.

Step 13: Tan fur, red heart

Go over your lines. Colour the fur tan around the cream nose and pink bow. Colour the heart red.

Tip Leave the eyes white.
