How to Draw Crab Cakes

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw crab cakes in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.

Print

  1. Step 1: A plate

In the middle of your paper draw a big wide oval plate, nearly as wide as the page.

  2. Step 2: The rim

Draw a second oval a finger inside the plate, all the way round, for the rim.

  3. Step 3: The big crab cake

Draw a flat oval on the left. From its left end draw a U under it, up to the right.

Tip Crab cakes are thick fried patties of crab meat, like fat coins.

  4. Step 4: The small crab cake

Higher on the right draw a smaller oval. From its right end draw a U, back to the big cake.

Tip It tucks behind the big one, so you only draw the part you can see.

  5. Step 5: Crust marks

Curve a crust line on each cake top. Add 3 tiny dashes on the big one, 2 on the small.

  6. Step 6: A lemon wedge

Right of the small cake draw a half circle, flat side up. Add a curve inside and 3 short lines.

  7. Step 7: A sauce cup

In front draw a flat oval with an oval inside. Add a U from its left end to its right.

  8. Step 8: Parsley

Below the lemon draw a short stem up to a point. From there fan out 3 small pointed leaves.

  9. Step 9: Yellow and cream

Go over your lines. Colour the lemon yellow and the sauce cream. Leave the cup white.

  10. Step 10: Golden crab cakes

Colour the sides of the crab cakes tan and their tops ginger.

  11. Step 11: Green and blue

Colour the parsley green and the plate sky blue, around the food. Your crab cakes are done!
