How to Draw a Hot Pot
Draw a hot pot in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
Above the middle draw a wide flat oval, about a hand wide. This is the top of the pot.
Step 2: The pot
Start at the oval's left end. Draw down the side, round the flat bottom, and up to the right end.
Step 3: The handles
On each side, start on the pot under the rim. Draw a fat C handle out, back to the pot.
Tip Rivets hold the handles on: add 2 tiny dots by each.
Step 4: Broth and steam
Inside the rim draw a second flat oval for the soup. Add 2 wiggly steam lines above the pot.
Step 5: Mushrooms
In the soup draw 2 mushrooms, big left and small right: a hill-shaped cap with a short stem.
Step 6: Tofu and carrot
In the middle draw a tilted square for tofu, and a little round carrot slice behind it, up right.
Step 7: Leaf and meatball
Between the mushroom and carrot draw a long pointed leaf. Add a round meatball on the right.
Step 8: The burner
Start under the pot on the left. Draw a low stand down, across, and back up to the pot.
Step 9: The table
Draw a table line under the stand, from well left to well right.
Step 10: Orange broth
Go over your lines. Colour the mushroom caps tan, then the soup orange around everything in it.
Step 11: Green leaf, brown meatball
Colour the leaf green and the meatball brown. Leave the tofu and the mushroom stems white.
Step 12: Red pot, grey stand
Colour the stand and handles grey, then the pot and its rim red, around the soup.
Step 13: Carrot slice
Colour the carrot slice red, and your hot pot is done!
