How to Draw a Cowboy
Draw a cowboy in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head and ears.
Step 1: Egg head and ears
Near the top, draw an egg head. Add a C ear on each side, starting and ending on the head.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 big eyes with shines, a tiny nose and a smile.
Step 3: Cowboy hat
Over the eyes, draw a brim curling up at each end. Draw a tall crown from brim to brim.
Step 4: Neck and shirt
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one, draw a shirt with long sleeves, round to the right one.
Step 5: Neckerchief
Under the chin, draw a neckerchief like a triangle pointing down, over the collar.
Step 6: Cuffs and mittens
Near each wrist, draw a cuff line across the sleeve. Below it, draw a mitten with a thumb pointing in.
Step 7: Belt and buckle
Draw a belt line across the bottom of the shirt, with a big round buckle in the middle.
Step 8: Jeans
Start at the left corner of the shirt. Draw jeans down and back up to the right corner.
Step 9: Boots and ground
Under each leg, draw a tall boot with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the boots.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour pink cheeks. Colour the face, ears, neck and hands peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Yellow shirt, blue jeans
Colour the shirt, sleeves and buckle yellow, not the neckerchief or belt. Colour the jeans blue.
Step 12: Red neckerchief, brown hat
Colour the neckerchief red. Colour the hat, belt and boots brown, around the buckle.
