How to Draw a Cow Eating

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a cow eating in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Long head

Low on the left, draw a long head tipping down. Round the snout end, near the ground.

Tip Leave room on the right for a long body.

  2. Step 2: Snout and eye

Draw a curved line across the snout end. Add a nostril, a smile and 1 big eye.

Tip The eye sits high on the head, near the back.

  3. Step 3: Horns and ears

On top of the head draw 2 small horns. Behind them draw 2 leaf ears, one with a leaf inside.

Tip The horns point forward because the head is down.

  4. Step 4: Neck and back

Start behind the head, under the ear. Draw up the neck, along a flat back, round the bottom, and stop.

Tip The neck slopes down to the head.

  5. Step 5: Front leg

Draw a ground line. From under the head, draw the chest into a leg, a flat hoof, and back up.

Tip Give the leg a small knee bump and make it thinner near the hoof.

  6. Step 6: Tummy and back leg

From the front leg draw the tummy. Then draw a wide back leg that bends back, down to a hoof.

Tip Finish at the end of the back line.

  7. Step 7: Far legs and udder

Under the tummy draw 2 more legs peeking out. In front of the back leg draw an udder.

Tip The udder is a round bag with 2 little bumps under it.

  8. Step 8: Hooves and tail

Draw a short line across each leg for 4 hooves. Add a thin tail with a tuft at the end.

  9. Step 9: Three patches

On the body draw 3 wobbly patches: 1 on the shoulder, 1 in the middle, 1 on the back end.

Tip Keep every patch inside the body lines.

  10. Step 10: Grass

Draw 3 pointed grass blades hanging out of the mouth. Draw 1 small grass tuft on the ground.

  11. Step 11: Pink parts

Colour the snout, the inside of the near ear and the udder pink.

  12. Step 12: Sand and green

Colour the 2 horns and the tail tuft sand. Colour all the grass green.

  13. Step 13: Grey hooves

Colour the 4 hooves grey. Leave the rest of the cow white, and the eye too.

  14. Step 14: Black patches

Colour the 3 patches black. Your cow eating grass is done!
