How to Draw a Compost Bin
Draw a compost bin in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pail.
Step 1: The pail
In the middle draw a pail on the counter: a box a little wider at the bottom than the top.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the pail draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, with a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye, and a small flat cheek beside each eye.
Step 4: The open lid
From the pail's top left corner draw the lid tipped open: a long flat box sloping up to the right.
Step 5: The banana peel
Over the pail's right corner draw a banana peel: a stem, a round top and 3 pointy flaps hanging down.
Step 6: The apple core
In the middle of the rim draw an apple core: a stem, round top, thin middle, round bottom.
Step 7: Two worms
Draw a wiggly worm poking up on each side of the core, one tall and one short.
Step 8: The handle
On top of the lid draw a small flat bump for a handle, starting and stopping on the lid's edge.
Step 9: Counter line
Start a little in from the left edge. Draw a counter line across under everything, stopping before the right edge.
Step 10: Sparkles
Draw 3 little 4-point sparkles around the pail, not touching it.
Step 11: Cream core, yellow peel
Go over your lines, then colour the core's middle cream, and the peel and sparkles yellow.
Step 12: Pink worms, red core
Colour the worms and cheeks pink, and the top and bottom of the apple core red.
Step 13: Green pail, brown stems
Colour the pail and lid green around the face and scraps, and the 2 stems brown. Leave the eyes white.
