How to Draw a Handkerchief
Draw a handkerchief in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the square cloth.
Step 1: The square cloth
In the middle of your paper draw a big square with 4 soft round corners.
Tip Make all 4 sides the same length. Turn your paper to check.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the square draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Tip Leave 2 white shines in each black dot.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Draw a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Top and bottom stripes
Near the top draw 2 lines close together, from the left edge to the right edge. Repeat near the bottom.
Step 5: Side stripes
Near the left edge draw 2 lines close together, from the top edge to the bottom. Repeat on the right.
Tip The stripes cross in all 4 corners, like a real hanky.
Step 6: A stitched flower
In the bottom right corner, inside the stripes, draw a small flower with 5 round petals.
Step 7: The flower middle
Draw a small circle in the middle of the flower.
Step 8: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines. Colour the flower middle yellow, and the petals and the cheeks pink.
Step 9: Light blue cloth
Colour the cloth light blue, around the face and the flower. Leave the eyes and the stripes white.
Step 10: Dark blue stripes
Colour the 4 stripes dark blue, and your handkerchief is done!
