How to Draw Colored Pencils
Draw colored pencils in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: middle pencil.
Step 1: Middle pencil
In the middle of your paper draw one tall pencil standing up: 2 long lines and a sharp point.
Step 2: Happy face
Below the point draw 2 round eyes with a black dot each. Add a small U smile under them.
Step 3: Two leaning pencils
Draw a pencil leaning a little left of the middle one, and one leaning a little right, tucked behind.
Tip They stand in one spot and spread out like a fan.
Step 4: Two more pencils
Draw one more pencil leaning further out left and one further out right, tucked behind the pencil next to it.
Step 5: Pencil cup
Round the bottoms of the pencils draw a wide cup with a band near the top. Rub out lines inside.
Step 6: Wood lines
On each pencil draw one line across where the point begins. Start on one side and stop on the other.
Step 7: Lead tips
Near the tip of each pencil draw a short line across to mark the lead.
Step 8: Ground and sparkles
Draw a ground line under the cup from left to right. Add 3 sparkle stars around the pencils.
Step 9: Tan wood, yellow sparkles
Colour the wood on every point tan, but not the lead tips. Colour the sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Green and yellow
Colour the far left pencil and its lead tip green, and the far right pencil and tip yellow.
Step 11: Red and blue
Colour the middle pencil red and the 2 next to it blue, tips too. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Purple cup
Colour the cup purple. Go over your lines and your coloured pencils are ready to draw!
