How to Draw a Coat Rack
Draw a coat rack in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hat.
Step 1: The hat
Near the top draw a flat brim, then a round dome from it, up and over, down to the brim.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the hat's dome draw 2 big egg eyes side by side. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, and a small flat oval cheek beside each eye.
Step 4: The pole
From the brim draw a pole down to near the bottom, across a little, and back up to the brim.
Step 5: The hooks
From the pole's sides draw 3 fat J hooks curling up: one each side up high, one lower left.
Step 6: The coat
From the right hook hang a coat: a collar, 2 sleeves, a long body, a V and 3 button dots.
Step 7: The scarf
From the lower left hook hang a scarf: a strip over the hook, one end longer, both ends flat.
Step 8: The base
At the bottom of the pole draw a long flat oval for the base standing on the floor.
Step 9: Floor line
Start near the left edge and draw a straight ground line under the base, stopping near the right edge.
Step 10: Sparkles
Draw a few little 4-point sparkles around it to make it shine.
Step 11: Yellow scarf, pink cheeks
Go over your lines, then colour the scarf and sparkles yellow and the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Red coat
Colour the coat red, around the black button dots.
Step 13: Wood and slate
Colour the pole, hooks and base wood brown, and the hat slate grey around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
