How to Draw a Clamp
Draw a clamp in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the c frame.
Step 1: The C frame
Left of the middle draw a big letter C with a wide round back, open on the right.
Tip Draw the C as one outline: round the outside, then back round the inside.
Step 2: The plank
On the C's bottom bar draw a plank, a long box from the back out past the C's opening.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the C's wide back draw 2 big egg eyes side by side, with big black dots.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye, and a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The screw and pad
From the top bar draw the screw: 2 lines down to the plank, ending in a ball and flat pad.
Step 6: The T handle
From the top bar draw a short post up, stopping a finger above. Add a long thin bar across it.
Step 7: Screw threads
On the screw draw 3 short slanted lines across, spaced out one under the other, for the threads.
Step 8: Ground and sparkles
Draw the ground line across the paper, level with the C's bottom, and a sparkle each side of the handle.
Step 9: Tan plank
Go over your lines, then colour the plank tan and the sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Pink and grey
Colour the cheeks pink, and the handle, screw and pad grey.
Step 11: Slate frame
Colour the C frame slate around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your clamp is holding tight!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a clamp, drawn by you.
