How to Draw Clam Chowder
Draw clam chowder in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
Across the middle draw a wide oval for the top of a round loaf, over half the page wide.
Step 2: The loaf
From the left end of the oval, draw a wide round loaf bulging out and under to the right end.
Tip Clam chowder is creamy soup, sometimes served in a hollowed-out loaf.
Step 3: The soup
Inside the rim draw a second oval, a finger inside it, for the creamy soup.
Step 4: Clam shells
In the soup draw 2 clam shells, a big one left and a smaller one right, fans with bumpy edges.
Tip Give each shell a small hinge at its point, and ridge lines fanning up from it.
Step 5: Croutons
Between the shells draw 2 tilted little blocks with soft corners, a bigger one high and a smaller one lower.
Step 6: Parsley and pepper
Draw 2 pointed leaves on the soup, one in the middle and one at the left, and 2 pepper dots.
Step 7: The bread lid
Low on the right draw a small dome for the cut-off lid, with a curved line from side to side.
Step 8: Steam
Above the loaf draw 2 wiggly steam lines going up.
Step 9: The table
Draw a line under the loaf from left to right, just touching its bottom and running under the lid.
Step 10: Cream soup, tan bread
Go over your lines. Colour the soup cream around everything in it, and the loaf, rim and lid tan.
Step 11: Grey clams, green parsley
Colour the clam shells grey and the parsley leaves green.
Step 12: Brown croutons
Colour the croutons brown. Your chowder is ready!
