How to Draw a Circular Saw

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a circular saw in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the blade guard.

Print

  1. Step 1: The blade guard

On the left, above the middle, draw a big half circle with a flat bottom.

Tip A circular saw has a big round blade half hidden under a guard.

  2. Step 2: 2 big eyes

On the guard draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.

  4. Step 4: The shoe plate

Under the guard draw a thin box, from just left of it to a little before the page's right edge.

  5. Step 5: The motor

Start on the guard's right side. Draw a line out right, then round the end down to the plate.

  6. Step 6: The handle

Arch from the guard to just before the motor's round end. Inside, draw a small arch from motor to motor.

Tip The gap inside the handle is where your hand goes.

  7. Step 7: The round blade

Under the guard, below the plate, draw the bottom of a big round blade with little pointy teeth.

Tip The guard hides the top of the blade, so only the bottom shows.

  8. Step 8: Motor vents

On the motor draw 3 short lines side by side, for the air vents.

  9. Step 9: The plank

Under the plate draw a long thick plank that sticks out past both ends, with the blade teeth inside.

  10. Step 10: The cord

Start at the back of the handle. Draw a cord curving out and down to the plank.

  11. Step 11: Sparkles

Draw a small four-point sparkle near each top corner, not touching the saw.

  12. Step 12: Tan and pink

Go over your lines, then colour the plank tan around the blade and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Grey blade, orange guard

Colour the blade and its teeth grey, and the guard orange around the face.

  14. Step 14: Slate saw body

Colour the plate, motor and handle slate, leaving the hole in the handle white. Whirr!
