How to Draw a Christmas Cactus
Draw a Christmas cactus in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pot.
Step 1: The pot
In the middle draw a flat rim band. From its left end draw a tub round to its right end.
Tip A Christmas cactus has no spines: its stems are chains of flat pads.
Step 2: Left chain
From the left of the rim draw a chain of 4 flat pads, arching out left and hanging down.
Tip Each pad is narrow at the bottom and flat at the top, with a round bump on each top corner.
Step 3: Right chain
Do the same on the right: a chain of 4 pads arching up and out, then down.
Step 4: Middle chain
From the middle of the rim draw a short chain of 2 pads going up, leaning a little right.
Step 5: Left flower
At the left chain's tip draw a short tube opening down, 2 pointed petals swept back and 2 threads.
Step 6: Right flower
Draw the same flower at the tip of the right chain.
Step 7: A flower on top
Draw the same flower at the tip of the middle chain, pointing up.
Step 8: The ground
Draw the ground line from far left to far right through the bottom of the pot.
Step 9: Pink flowers
Go over your lines, then colour all 3 flowers pink, the tubes and the petals.
Step 10: Ginger pot
Colour the pot ginger.
Step 11: Green pads
Colour every pad dark green, and your Christmas cactus is done!
