How to Draw Chilaquiles
Draw chilaquiles in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the plate.
Step 1: The plate
In the middle of your paper draw a big flat oval plate, with a second oval inside for the rim.
Tip Plate first: all the food will sit inside the inner rim.
Step 2: The sauce pool
Inside the rim draw a big wobbly oval for a puddle of red sauce, with plate showing all round.
Step 3: Three chips
In the middle of the pool draw 3 soft triangle chips like a fan, the middle one tallest.
Tip Lift your pencil where a chip goes behind its neighbour.
Step 4: A flat chip
In front of the 3, lying flat and low, draw one more soft triangle chip, point up, covering their bottoms.
Step 5: A fried egg
On top of the chips draw a wavy egg white, letting the tall chip's point peek out above it.
Step 6: The yolk
In the middle of the white draw a big round yolk.
Step 7: Onions and leaf
Draw an onion ring, an oval with a little hole, on each side chip. Add a leaf on the egg.
Step 8: The table
Draw a line under the plate from well left to well right, just touching its bottom.
Step 9: White egg, yellow yolk
Go over your lines. Leave the egg white white and colour the yolk yellow.
Step 10: Tan chips
Colour all 4 chips tan, going around the onion rings but filling in their little holes.
Step 11: Sky plate, green leaf
Colour the plate sky blue, going around the sauce pool and the food, and the leaf green.
Step 12: Purple onions, red sauce
Colour the onion rings purple and the sauce pool red, going around the chips and egg. Your chilaquiles are done!
