How to Draw a Plum
Draw a plum in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the plum.
Step 1: The plum
In the middle of your paper draw a big egg standing up, hand tall, with a tiny dip on top.
Step 2: The crease
From the dip, draw a long line down and left, bowing right like a backwards C. Stop above the bottom.
Step 3: The stem
From the dip draw a short stem of 2 close lines going up, leaning a little right.
Step 4: A leaf
From the stem tip draw a fat leaf pointing up to the right. Add a bowed line down its middle.
Tip The leaf is a fat almond, with one vein.
Step 5: A shine
Inside the right side of the plum, up high, draw a thin oval sliver for a shine.
Step 6: The ground
Draw a ground line under the plum that just touches its bottom, from well left to well right.
Step 7: A shadow
Under the plum, draw a flat oval on the ground line, wider than its bottom. Rub out the line inside.
Step 8: Purple plum
Go over your lines, then colour the plum purple, leaving the shine white.
Step 9: Green leaf
Colour the leaf green.
Step 10: Brown stem, grey shadow
Colour the stem brown and the shadow grey.
