How to Draw a Chihuahua

Draw a Chihuahua in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big head.

Step 1: Big head
Near the top, draw a big oval head, a little wider than tall.
Tip Make it big: almost half the chihuahua. Leave room below for the body.
Step 2: Huge pointy ears
From each top corner, draw a huge wide ear up to a rounded point, and back down to the head.
Tip As tall as half the head. Add a smaller triangle inside each ear.
Step 3: Two huge eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 huge round eyes, 1 eye apart, with black dots and a shine.
Step 4: Tiny snout and nose
Right under the eyes, draw a small oval snout inside the head. Sit a black triangle nose on top.
Step 5: Smile and tongue
From the nose, draw a line down to a w, stopping inside the snout. Hang a U tongue under it.
Tip A small U tongue hangs from the middle and pokes out under the snout.
Step 6: Slim body
Rule the ground. From under each ear, draw a gentle C down to the ground for the body.
Tip A chihuahua is slim: keep the body narrower than the head.
Step 7: Chest patch
Start under the left cheek. Draw a big U down the chest, and stop under the right cheek.
Step 8: Front legs
From the chest patch line, draw 2 short U legs down to the ground and back up to the line.
Tip Short thin legs. Add 2 toe lines on each paw.
Step 9: Back paws
On each side, draw a little hill paw on the ground at the bottom corner of the body.
Tip Rub out the body line inside each paw. Add 2 toe lines.
Step 10: Curly tail
From the right hip, draw a thick tail curving up to a point, then back down to the hip.
Tip The tail is fat at the hip and thin at the tip.
Step 11: Cream chest and paws
Colour the chest, snout, front legs and back paws cream, and the inside of the ears peach.
Step 12: Tan fur
Colour the head, ears, body and tail tan around the cream and peach parts, leaving the eyes white.
Step 13: Pink tongue
Colour the tongue pink.
