How to Draw a Yak Face
Draw a yak face in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Draw a big round head that fills most of the page. Leave room for ears and horns.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Across the middle of the head, draw 2 big oval eyes. Add a black dot and a shine.
Step 3: Nose and smile
Under the eyes draw a big egg nose. It hangs below the chin. Add 2 nostrils and a wide smile.
Step 4: Two horns
On top of the head draw 2 long horns. Each sweeps out and curves up to a point.
Tip Yak horns are long, almost to the edge of the paper.
Step 5: Leaf ears
On each side of the head, level with the eyes, draw a small leaf ear. Stop back on the head.
Step 6: Shaggy mop
Start above the left ear. Draw soft bumps over the top to the right ear, then back above the eyes.
Tip Rub out the lines inside the mop. It covers the bottoms of the horns.
Step 7: Long cheek hair
Start on the head under each ear. Draw long bumpy hair hanging down past the chin, back to the nose.
Step 8: Sand horns, pink cheeks
Colour the horns sand. Draw a little oval on each cheek beside the nose and colour it pink.
Step 9: Wood mop, grey nose
Colour the shaggy mop wood brown. Colour the nose and the inside of the ears grey.
Step 10: Brown yak
Colour the head, ear rims and cheek hair brown, around the mop, eyes, cheeks, nose and ear insides.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
