How to Draw a Chicago Flag
Draw a chicago flag in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.
Step 1: The flag pole
On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to near the top. Add a ball.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Wave the top edge out to the right, come down, and wave back.
Step 3: Top stripe
Near the top draw 2 wavy lines across the flag. Start each at the pole, stop at the right edge.
Tip Make the stripe as tall as the white gap above it.
Step 4: Bottom stripe
Near the bottom draw 2 more wavy lines across. Start each at the pole, stop at the right edge.
Tip Leave a wide white band in the middle for the stars.
Step 5: The first star
In the wide middle band, towards the left, draw a star with 6 sharp points.
Tip One point up, one point down and 2 on each side.
Step 6: Three more stars
Draw 3 more stars the same size, in a row across the middle band.
Tip Keep the gaps between the 4 stars even.
Step 7: Wind lines
Off the right edge of the flag draw 3 short wind lines.
Step 8: Ground line
Draw a long flat ground line under the pole, from the left side to the right side.
Step 9: Yellow ball, grey pole
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow and the pole grey.
Step 10: Light blue stripes
Colour the 2 stripes light blue. Leave the rest of the flag white.
Step 11: Red stars
Go over your lines, then colour the 4 stars red. Your Chicago flag is waving!
