How to Draw a Cherry Blossom
Draw a cherry blossom in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big puff.
Step 1: Big puff
High up, start on the left. Draw 5 round bumps over to the right, then 3 shallow bumps back underneath.
Step 2: Two more puffs
Start lower left. Draw a smaller puff: 4 bumps over, 2 back to the start. Do another lower right.
Step 3: The trunk
Start under the big puff. Draw 2 bending lines down, wider apart at the bottom, each ending in a root.
Tip A tree trunk is thinner at the top and a little bent, not a straight post.
Step 4: Left branch
From the left trunk line, draw 2 lines curving up into the left puff. Rub out the trunk line between.
Step 5: Right branch
From the right trunk line, draw the same branch up into the right puff. Rub out the trunk line between.
Step 6: Little blossoms
Draw tiny flowers of 5 round petals inside the puffs: 4 on the big puff, 2 on each small puff.
Step 7: Drifting petals
Draw a few tiny petals drifting down from the puffs, each a little curved sliver like a grain of rice.
Step 8: Ground and grass
Draw a long ground line under the roots, well left to well right. Add grass blades beside the trunk.
Step 9: Pink blossom
Colour all 3 puffs pink, going round the little flowers. Leave the flowers white.
Step 10: Petals and trunk
Colour the drifting petals pink, then the trunk and both branches brown. Your tree is done!
