How to Draw a Black Hole
Draw a black hole in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hole.
Step 1: The hole
In the middle of your paper draw a big round circle, as big as an orange.
Step 2: Two big eyes
A little above the middle draw 2 big egg eyes. Add black dots with tiny shines.
Step 3: An open smile
Under the eyes draw an open smile: a short line across with a U hanging under it.
Step 4: The glow ring
Draw a second circle all the way round the first one, one finger away. This is the glow.
Step 5: First swirl arm
From the ring's right side, swoop a fat arm over the top to a thin tip low on the left.
Tip Fat where it leaves the ring, thin at the tip.
Step 6: Second swirl arm
From the ring's top left, swoop a fat arm down and under to a thin tip on the right.
Step 7: Third swirl arm
From the ring's bottom, swoop a fat arm up the right side to a thin tip at the top.
Tip The 3 arms swirl round like water going down a drain.
Step 8: Stars pulled in
In 2 corners draw a little star. Give each 2 curved speed lines behind it, following the swirl.
Step 9: Two twinkles
In the 2 empty corners draw a little twinkle with 4 points.
Step 10: Yellow glow
Colour the glow ring, the 2 stars and the 2 twinkles yellow.
Step 11: Orange arms
Colour the 3 swirly arms orange, right up to the yellow ring.
Step 12: Pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks under the eyes, beside the smile.
Step 13: Black hole
Colour the hole black around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes and mouth white. Your black hole is done!
