How to Draw a Cheese Wheel

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a cheese wheel in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top.

Print

  1. Step 1: The top

Draw a big flat oval above the middle. Start at the front left, go round, and stop before the start.

Tip A flat oval with a bite out of the front.

  2. Step 2: The sides

From each end of the oval draw a short line straight down and stop. Both the same length.

  3. Step 3: The bottom

Start at the left line. Curve down and across to the right line. Leave the same gap at the front.

  4. Step 4: The cut

From each gap end draw a line down to the bottom gap. Add one from the oval's middle, straight down.

  5. Step 5: The cut faces

From the oval's middle draw a line out to each gap end. Do the same at the bottom.

Tip Now the bite shows 2 flat cut faces.

  6. Step 6: Holes

On the cut faces draw 3 small round holes. Add one little hole on each curved side.

  7. Step 7: The cut wedge

Draw the cut wedge at the front right: a low box, a triangle top, a curved end. Add 2 holes.

Tip Its point faces left, toward the wheel. The curved end is the rind.

  8. Step 8: A board

Draw a flat board under the wheel. Start at its left, curve under the wedge, and stop at its right.

Tip Lift your pencil where the board goes behind the cheese.

  9. Step 9: The table

Draw a long table line under the board, just touching its bottom.

  10. Step 10: Yellow wedge, white holes

Go over your lines. Colour the wedge's top and front yellow. Leave all the holes white.

  11. Step 11: Yellow cheese

Colour the wheel's top and the 2 cut faces yellow, going round the holes.

  12. Step 12: Orange rind

Colour the wheel's curved sides orange, around the wedge. Colour the wedge's curved end orange too.

  13. Step 13: Wood board

Colour the board wood brown, around the cheese, and your cheese wheel is done!
