How to Draw a Green Tree Python
Draw a green tree python in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round head.
Step 1: Round head
Above the middle, draw a round head like an egg on its side, a little flatter at the bottom.
Tip Leave room below for a branch and the hanging coils.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Halfway down the head, draw 2 big egg eyes close together. Add black dots and shines.
Step 3: Nostrils and smile
Dot 2 nostrils under the eyes. Start under the left eye. Draw a wide smile, stopping under the right eye.
Step 4: Forked tongue
From the smile's middle, draw a thin tongue poking down past the chin. Split the end into 2 points.
Step 5: First loop
From the chin, draw a fat loop down and up, ending in a round top on the left.
Tip Make it fatter at the bottom. Its round top will hang over the branch.
Step 6: The branch
Under the head, draw a long branch across the paper with round ends. Add 2 small leaves on top.
Tip Lift your pencil at the snake's body and the tongue, carry on past them.
Step 7: Loop and tail
Under the branch, draw a second loop on the right. Then add a tail curling down to a point.
Tip Start and end each one at the branch. The new loop tucks behind the first loop.
Step 8: Row of spots
Along each loop, draw a wobbly row of 3 little oval spots.
Step 9: Leaf-green snake
Colour the head and the whole body leaf green, around the spots. Leave the eyes and spots white.
Step 10: Red tongue
Colour the forked tongue red.
Step 11: Wood branch, green leaves
Colour the branch wood brown around the snake, and the 2 leaves leaf green. Your green tree python is done!
