How to Draw a Cat Food
Draw a cat food in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
Start at the left and draw a wide flat oval across the middle of the paper, back to the start.
Tip Leave room above it: the food piles up high.
Step 2: The bowl
Start at the oval's left end. Slope down and out, along the bottom and up; stop at its right end.
Tip A pet bowl is wider at the bottom so it cannot tip over.
Step 3: A row of food
Inside the rim draw 4 round bits of cat food side by side. Stop at the front rim.
Tip Rub out the back of the rim where the food hides it.
Step 4: A second row
On top draw 3 more round bits, each one sitting between 2 bits below.
Step 5: The top of the pile
Pile 2 more bits on top, then 1 last bit at the very top.
Tip Each bit sits in the dip between the 2 bits below it.
Step 6: A fish
On the bowl's front draw a little fish: a pointed oval with a triangle tail and a dot eye.
Tip A fish on the bowl shows it belongs to a cat.
Step 7: A stripe
Near the bottom of the bowl draw one gentle curve from the left side to the right side.
Step 8: Table and shadow
Draw a thin shadow oval round the bottom of the bowl. Add a table line out from each side.
Step 9: Yellow fish, cream stripe
Colour the fish yellow. Colour the bowl under the stripe cream.
Step 10: Tan bits
Colour 5 of the food bits tan, here and there, like the picture.
Tip Leave the other bits white for now.
Step 11: Brown bits
Colour the other 5 food bits brown, and the little gaps between them too.
Step 12: Blue bowl, grey shadow
Colour the bowl and the rim blue, around the fish. Colour the shadow grey. Your cat food is done!
Tip Go round the fish so it stays yellow.
