How to Draw a Cookie Cutter

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a cookie cutter in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cutter top.

Print

  1. Step 1: The cutter top

Left of the middle, draw a big 5-point star, as wide as your hand, one point straight up.

Tip Make the points sharp and leave room on the right for a cookie.

  2. Step 2: The metal rim

Inside it, draw a smaller star the same shape, a finger in from the edge all the way round.

Tip The gap between the 2 stars is the metal rim. The middle is a hole.

  3. Step 3: Wall under the arms

From each arm tip draw a short line down, then copy the arm's lower edge until it meets the leg.

  4. Step 4: Wall under the legs

From both leg tips draw short lines down. Join them with a V, then a line up to the dent.

  5. Step 5: A star cookie

On the right, draw a smaller star with soft round points: a cookie the cutter made.

  6. Step 6: Cookie edge

From its left arm tip to the right one, draw a line a little below the cookie's lower edge.

  7. Step 7: The table

Draw a long table line under the cutter and the cookie, touching the bottom of both.

  8. Step 8: Tan cookie

Colour the cookie and its edge tan.

  9. Step 9: Grey rim

Colour the rim between the 2 stars grey. Leave the hole in the middle white.

  10. Step 10: Dark grey walls

Go over your lines, then colour the metal walls dark grey. Your cookie cutter is done!
