How to Draw a Signed Cast

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a signed cast in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cast.

Print

  1. Step 1: The cast

Draw a leg in a cast: a soft top at the knee, down the shin, and a foot bending right.

Tip A cast is a thick white shell that keeps a broken bone still.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

Halfway down the shin draw 2 big egg eyes, with a black dot and white shine in each.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a little U smile, and a small flat cheek beside each end.

  4. Step 4: Toes

At the foot's end draw a rounded bump poking out of the cast for the toes, with 2 lines across.

  5. Step 5: The knee

Draw a round knee peeking out of the top of the cast, starting and stopping on its top line.

  6. Step 6: Cuff and toe bands

Draw a curve across the cast under the knee, and one down the foot near the toes, for the edges.

  7. Step 7: The pillow

Under the foot draw a soft pillow with round corners and a flat bottom, tucked behind the cast.

  8. Step 8: Signatures

On the cast draw 2 squiggles where friends signed: one near the top and one on the foot.

  9. Step 9: Heart and star

Draw a little heart low on the shin and a star near the top, away from the face.

  10. Step 10: Ground

Draw a flat ground line under the pillow, a little longer than it on both sides.

  11. Step 11: White cast, peach skin

Go over your lines. Colour the cast white, round the doodles. Colour the knee and toes peach.

    Tip Keep the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Yellow star, pink cheeks

Colour the star yellow and the cheeks pink.

  13. Step 13: Red heart, blue pillow

Colour the heart red and the pillow blue, around the cast and toes. Get well soon!
