How to Draw Card Suits
Draw card suits in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: heart.
Step 1: Heart
At the top left draw a heart: 2 round bumps on top and a sharp point at the bottom.
Tip Draw one half, then match it on the other side.
Step 2: Spade top
At the top right draw an upside-down heart: a sharp point on top and 2 round bumps below.
Tip A spade is just a heart standing on its head.
Step 3: Spade stem
Start at the dip between the bumps. Draw 2 lines curving down and apart. Stop and join them flat.
Tip The stem is thin at the top and wide at the bottom, like a tiny bell.
Step 4: Club top
At the bottom left draw a round circle for the top of the club.
Step 5: Club sides
Draw 2 more circles the same size underneath, side by side. Each one just touches the other two.
Tip Three circles in a triangle, like a clover leaf.
Step 6: Club stem
Start where the 2 lower circles touch. Draw 2 lines curving down and apart. Stop and join them flat.
Tip Make it match the spade's stem.
Step 7: Diamond
At the bottom right draw a tall diamond: 4 straight sides and 4 sharp corners.
Tip The top and bottom corners sit exactly above each other.
Step 8: Red heart
Colour the heart bright red.
Step 9: Red diamond
Colour the diamond red too. Hearts and diamonds are the red suits.
Step 10: Black spade
Colour the spade black, the stem as well.
Step 11: Black club
Colour the club black: all 3 circles, the gap in the middle and the stem. Go over your lines.
