How to Draw a Shape Fish
Draw a shape fish in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: an oval body.
Step 1: An oval body
In the middle draw a big oval lying on its side for the body, wider than tall.
Tip This fish is built from shapes: an oval and triangles!
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the left of the oval draw 2 round eyes close together, each with a black dot and a shine.
Step 3: A smile
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, starting under the left eye and stopping under the right eye.
Step 4: A triangle tail
Start on the oval's right end. Draw a triangle tail out and back, stopping on the oval a bit lower.
Step 5: Triangle fins
On top of the oval draw a small triangle fin pointing up. Under the oval draw another pointing down.
Step 6: Scales
On the right half of the body draw little U scales in 3 rows: 3, 2, then 3.
Step 7: Bubbles and sparkles
Draw 3 bubbles in front of the fish. Add one sparkle low on the left and one high on the right.
Step 8: Sand and seaweed
Draw a sand line along the bottom. Grow 3 wavy seaweed leaves up from it, 2 left and 1 right.
Step 9: Yellow fins, blue bubbles
Colour the tail, both fins and the 2 sparkles yellow. Colour the bubbles sky blue.
Step 10: Orange body
Colour the oval body orange around the eyes. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Green seaweed
Colour the 3 seaweed leaves green. Your shape fish is done!
