How to Draw a Car Hauler Trailer

13 steps · Tricky · about 10 min

Draw a car hauler trailer in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two long decks.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two long decks

Draw 2 long thin planks, one high and one low, with room for cars between them.

Tip Two decks like a bunk bed: cars ride on both.

  2. Step 2: Headboard and posts

Join the decks with a tall box at the left end. Add thin posts at the middle and right end.

Tip The headboard at the front stops the cars rolling off.

  3. Step 3: A happy face

On the headboard draw 2 round eyes with black dots, a small smile, and a cheek under each eye.

  4. Step 4: Two cars below

Draw 2 cars on the lower deck. Each starts and ends on the deck, with a roof, window and wheels.

  5. Step 5: Two cars on top

On the upper deck draw 2 more little cars the same way, each with a window and 2 round wheels.

  6. Step 6: Trailer wheels

Under the lower deck, draw 3 big wheels with hubs: 1 at the front, 2 close together at the back.

Tip Leave a gap so the wheels never touch.

  7. Step 7: The hitch

From the front of the lower deck, draw a short bar sticking forward with a round ball on its end.

Tip The ball is where it hooks onto a truck.

  8. Step 8: The road

Draw a road line under the wheels, stopping before each edge of your paper.

  9. Step 9: The ramp

From the back end of the lower deck, draw a flat plank sloping down to the road.

  10. Step 10: Yellow car, pink cheeks

Colour the front car on top yellow and the tiny cheeks pink. Leave its window white.

  11. Step 11: Grey trailer

Colour the decks, headboard, posts, ramp, hitch and hubs stone grey, around the face. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Blue and green cars

Colour the back car below blue and the back car on top green. Leave the windows white.

  13. Step 13: Red car, black tyres

Colour the front car below red, leaving its window white. Colour the tyres and car wheels black, around the hubs.
