How to Draw a UFO Crash

13 steps · Tricky · about 10 min

Draw a UFO crash in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tilted saucer.

Print

  1. Step 1: The tilted saucer

Below the middle draw the saucer rim: a long flat oval tilted down to the right, its tip dipping low.

Tip Everything tilts: it has crash-landed nose first.

  2. Step 2: The dome

On top of the rim, toward the high end, draw a round glass dome, tilted with it.

  3. Step 3: The bowl and lights

Start at the rim's low tip. Draw a big smile curve underneath, stopping at the high tip. Add 3 lights.

  4. Step 4: The alien's head

Poking out of the dome draw a big upside-down egg head, with 2 tall oval eyes and a little smile.

Tip Give each eye a black dot with a little white shine.

  5. Step 5: Antennae and dizzy stars

From the head draw 2 short antennae up, stopping in round tips. Add 3 fat stars circling the head: dizzy!

Tip Stars circling the head is the cartoon way to say 'dizzy'.

  6. Step 6: Body and arms

Inside the dome draw a small body under the head. Add 2 waving arms with mitten hands.

Tip The alien is climbing out: head, little body and 2 arms up.

  7. Step 7: Ground and dirt

Draw a long ground line under the saucer's low tip. Add a lumpy dirt heap over the buried nose.

Tip Don't draw the saucer lines inside the heap.

  8. Step 8: Corn stalks

On the left draw 2 tall corn stalks, each with 2 long leaves and a small cob peeking out.

Tip A fat cob tucked behind a leaf makes it corn, not grass.

  9. Step 9: Smoke

Above the buried nose draw 3 bumpy puffs of smoke tumbling up, wobbling side to side, the top one smallest.

  10. Step 10: Yellow cobs and stars

Colour the corn cobs, the dizzy stars and the lights yellow.

  11. Step 11: Grey saucer, sky dome

Colour the saucer rim grey and the dome sky blue around the alien.

  12. Step 12: Green alien, red bowl

Colour the alien, the corn stalks and the leaves green. Colour the bowl red around the yellow lights.

    Tip Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Brown dirt, grey smoke

Colour the dirt heap brown and the smoke puffs grey. Your UFO has crash-landed in the cornfield!
