How to Draw a Woolly Mammoth
Draw a woolly mammoth in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Start below the middle. Draw a huge round head with fat cheeks, and stop, leaving a gap for the trunk.
Tip The head is almost half the whole mammoth.
Step 2: The trunk
From the gap, draw a small rainbow into the face, then hang a trunk that curls up at the tip.
Step 3: Eyes and smile
Draw a big round eye each side above the rainbow. Add a smile curve peeking out beside the trunk.
Step 4: Small round ears
Near the top of each side draw a small round ear like a cookie, starting and stopping on the head.
Tip Mammoth ears are small, to keep warm in the snow.
Step 5: Hair tuft
Start on top of the head. Draw 3 round hair tufts like a cloud, stopping back on the head.
Step 6: Tusks and wrinkles
Under the chin draw 2 fat tusks curving down, out and up to a point. Add 3 trunk wrinkles.
Step 7: Shaggy body
Start under each cheek. Draw a C with 3 fur bumps, stopping low on each side. Add a ground line.
Step 8: Fat legs and tummy
From each body line draw a fat leg down to a wide round foot and back up. Add a tummy.
Step 9: Toenails and back feet
Draw 3 toenail bumps on each foot. Behind each front foot draw a low bun peeking out.
Step 10: The tail
Start on the right of the body. Draw a thick tail swinging out and down, ending in a round tuft.
Step 11: Pink and cream
Colour the inside of each ear pink, with a little pink on each cheek. Colour the tusks and toenails cream.
Step 12: Colour it brown
Colour the whole mammoth brown, around the pink and cream parts. Leave the eyes white.
