How to Draw an Egg-Eating Snake
Draw an egg-eating snake in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
In the top left draw a small head like an egg lying on its side, with a round chin.
Tip An egg-eating snake has a small head but swallows eggs bigger than it.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
In the middle of the head draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Add big black dots.
Step 3: Nostrils and smile
Dot 2 tiny nostrils under the eyes. From under the left eye draw a wide smile across to the right.
Step 4: The forked tongue
From the middle of the smile draw a thin red tongue down past the chin, with a tiny V fork.
Tip Keep it skinny like a thread, not touching the body.
Step 5: Body with egg bump
From the chin draw a thin tube with a round egg bump, curving down and along to a pointed tail.
Tip The body puffs out round the egg, like a sock with a ball inside.
Step 6: Sandy ground
Under the snake rule a long line from one side of the paper to the other, for the sand.
Step 7: The nest
Under the head draw a low nest bowl, wider at the top, with 2 twig lines. Add 3 peeking eggs.
Tip The lump in the snake is the same size as the eggs.
Step 8: Eggs and sand
Go over your lines. Colour the 3 eggs cream and the sand under the line pale yellow.
Step 9: Tan nest
Colour the nest tan, twig lines and all.
Step 10: Brown snake
Colour the head and the whole body brown, bump and all, leaving the eyes white. Your snake is done!
