How to Draw a Candy Cane
Draw a candy cane in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hook.
Step 1: The hook
Near the top draw a big rainbow. Start on the left, stop on the right. Draw a small one inside.
Tip The band between them is about 2 fingers wide.
Step 2: The long stick
From each left end draw a long line straight down, stopping near the bottom. Join the bottoms with a U.
Step 3: Happy face
Under the hook draw 2 round eyes, then an open smile from left over to right, and 2 pink cheeks.
Step 4: The short end
From the right end of the big rainbow draw a short U down and back up to the small rainbow.
Step 5: A ribbon bow
Below the mouth draw a small square knot. Add a teardrop loop each side and 2 ribbon tails under it.
Step 6: Stripes on the hook
Draw 4 slanted bands round the hook, 2 lines each, from the big rainbow leaning over to the small one.
Tip All the stripes lean the same way, never pointing at the middle.
Step 7: Stripe on the end
On the short end draw one slanted line. Start below the big rainbow and lean down to the round end.
Step 8: Stripes on the stick
Under the face draw 7 slanted lines, from the left edge up to the right. Skip the bow.
Step 9: Red stripes
Go over your lines. Colour every other band red, and both round tips. Leave the rest white.
Step 10: Green bow
Colour the whole bow green: the knot, both loops and the tails.
