How to Draw a Jacket
Draw a jacket in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the neck hole.
Step 1: The neck hole
Near the top draw a small rainbow. From its left end draw a U down to its right end.
Tip About 3 fingers wide.
Step 2: Shoulders and sleeves
From each end of the rainbow slope out over the shoulder, down a long sleeve, and up to the armpit.
Step 3: The body
From each armpit draw a straight side down to a round corner. Join the corners with a flat hem.
Step 4: The collar
Start beside the neck hole on each side. Slant a collar flap down to a point and back up.
Step 5: The zip
From the neck hole draw a straight zip down to the hem. Hang a little pull near the top.
Step 6: The waistband
A finger above the hem, draw a line from the left side across to the right side.
Step 7: Cuff bands
On each sleeve, a finger above the end, draw a slanted line from the outside edge across to the inside.
Step 8: Two pockets
Above the waistband draw a pocket on each side of the zip, a box with round bottom corners.
Step 9: The hanger
From the top of the rainbow draw a short line up. End it with a hook.
Step 10: The rail
Draw a rail at hook height, from the left edge across to the right, skipping inside the hook.
Step 11: Grey pull, red jacket
Colour the zip pull grey, then the jacket and neck hole red, going around the pull, collar, cuffs and waistband.
Step 12: Navy collar and bands
Colour the collar, cuffs and waistband navy blue, then go over your lines.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a jacket, drawn by you.
