How to Draw a Can
Draw a can in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top.
Step 1: The top
A little above the middle of your paper draw a flat oval, wider than your thumb is long.
Step 2: The can
Start at the oval's left end. Draw a line down, across the bottom, and back up to the right end.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the can draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Draw a small flat oval cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 5: Pull tab
On the top oval draw a small flat ring for the pull tab, with a short line across it.
Step 6: The label
Draw a gentle curve across the can above the eyes, and another below the cheeks, for the label band.
Step 7: A star
Under the label band draw a little star in the middle of the can.
Step 8: Drink hole
On the top oval, beside the tab, draw a small oval hole and colour it black.
Step 9: Fizz
Just above the hole draw 3 little bubbles rising up, the biggest lowest.
Step 10: The table
Draw a table line under the can, out past both sides.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, red star
Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks pink and the star red.
Step 12: Silver can
Colour the can light grey above and below the label, around the star. Colour the top grey around the hole.
Step 13: Red label, sky fizz
Colour the label band red around the eyes and cheeks, and the bubbles sky blue.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
