How to Draw a Cake Stand
Draw a cake stand in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cake.
Step 1: The cake
Below the middle draw a little cake: a box with soft top corners, a bit wider than tall.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the cake draw 2 big egg eyes, with a black dot and a white shine in each.
Step 3: A smile
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, starting below one eye and stopping below the other.
Step 4: The plate
Under the cake draw a long flat plate with soft corners, twice as wide as the cake.
Step 5: Stem and foot
Start under the plate. Draw a stem down, flaring out to a wide foot, then back up.
Tip Like a wine glass stem.
Step 6: Icing and cherry
Along the cake's top draw little bumps for dripping icing. Add a cherry with a stalk on top.
Step 7: The glass dome
Start near the plate's left end. Curve a tall dome over the cake and down to its right end.
Step 8: The knob
On top of the dome draw a small round knob.
Step 9: Ground line
Draw a ground line across under the foot. Start near the left edge and stop near the right edge.
Step 10: Sparkles
Draw 4 little sparkles with 4 points around the stand, two up high and two down low.
Step 11: Pink cake, yellow sparkles
Go over your lines. Colour the cake pink, leaving the eyes white, and the sparkles yellow.
Step 12: Sky dome, grey stand
Colour the dome and knob sky blue, around the cake and cherry, and the plate and stem grey.
Step 13: Red cherry
Colour the cherry red. Your cake stand is done!
