How to Draw a Cactus Flower
Draw a cactus flower in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the barrel.
Step 1: The barrel
In the middle of your paper draw a fat round barrel, like a big hill. Close it along the bottom.
Tip Short and fat, not tall like a column.
Step 2: Ribs
Draw 3 bowed lines down the barrel from near the top to the bottom, following its curve.
Step 3: Petals
On top of the barrel draw 8 fat petals fanning out from one spot, 4 on each side.
Tip Each petal is a teardrop with its point in the middle.
Step 4: The flower's middle
Where the petals meet draw a small round middle.
Step 5: Spines
Dot little V ticks over the barrel for the spines, in rows between the ribs.
Step 6: The ground
Draw a long straight ground line along the bottom of the barrel.
Step 7: Rocks
On the ground draw 3 round rocks, one on the left and 2 on the right, the small one behind.
Step 8: Grass
At each end of the ground line draw a little tuft of 3 grass blades fanning up from one spot.
Step 9: Yellow middle, pink petals
Go over your lines. Colour the flower's middle yellow and all the petals pink.
Step 10: Green cactus
Colour the barrel leaf green, around the flower.
Step 11: Grey rocks
Colour the 3 rocks grey.

Your finished drawing
