How to Draw a Bush Dog
Draw a bush dog in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big soft head.
Step 1: Big soft head
Near the top left draw a big soft egg head, wider than tall, with a round top and chin.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the long body.
Step 2: Small round ears
On each top corner of the head draw a small round ear with a ring inside. Make the left smaller.
Step 3: Big eyes
On the middle of the head, a little to the left, draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.
Step 4: Snout and smile
Under the left eye draw a snout poking past the head. From its black nose, draw down into a w.
Tip Rub out the head line inside the snout.
Step 5: Long back
Start on the head, below the eyes. Draw a long low back, curl down round the bottom and stop.
Tip A bush dog is long and low, like a sausage.
Step 6: Short front leg
Draw a ground line. From under the chin bow the chest out, go down round a plump paw, and stop.
Tip The legs are short, so the tummy stays near the ground.
Step 7: Tummy and back leg
From the front leg draw a low tummy, round a back paw, up to the bottom. Add a thigh curve.
Tip The tummy sits low, close to the ground.
Step 8: Far legs
Under the tummy draw 2 more short legs with paws, peeking out between the big legs.
Tip Only part of each far leg shows. All 4 paws sit on the ground.
Step 9: Toes
On each big paw draw 2 short curved toe lines. Draw 1 on each small paw.
Step 10: Short bushy tail
Start on top of the bottom. Draw a short fat tail pointing up to a round tip, and back down.
Step 11: Cream and peach
Go over your lines. Colour the snout cream and the inside of each ear peach.
Step 12: Tan head
Colour the head and ears tan, around the snout and ear middles. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Colour it brown
Colour the long body, all 4 legs and the tail brown. Your bush dog is done!
