How to Draw a Milking a Cow
Draw a milking a cow in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: cow's head.
Step 1: Cow's head
On the left draw a soft egg head, a little wider at the bottom.
Tip Leave most of the paper on the right for the long body and the farmer.
Step 2: Horns and ears
On top draw 2 short curved horns. On each side draw a leaf ear sticking out.
Step 3: Cow's face
Draw 2 black oval eyes. Draw a big egg snout across the chin, with 2 nostrils and a smile.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye. Rub out the head line inside the snout.
Step 4: Back and back leg
Start by the right ear. Draw a long back, down a back leg, round the hoof. Stop half way up.
Tip The body is about 3 heads long. The leg ends in a flat hoof.
Step 5: Front leg and tummy
Start at the chin. Draw the chest, a front leg and the tummy. Stop at the back leg.
Tip Both legs are wide at the top and thinner near the hoof.
Step 6: Far leg and tail
Draw one more leg peeking behind the front leg. Add 3 hoof lines and a thin tail with a tuft.
Step 7: Udder and patches
Start on the tummy line. Draw a round udder with 2 teats. Stop on the tummy. Add 2 wobbly patches.
Step 8: Bucket and stool
Draw a ground line under the hooves. On it draw a bucket under the udder and a low stool.
Tip The stool has a flat seat and 2 legs.
Step 9: Farmer's head
Above the stool draw a round head with an ear, dot eyes and a smile. Add a wide straw hat.
Tip Rub out the head line inside the hat.
Step 10: Body, leg and boot
From the chin draw the body down to the stool. Add a bent leg down to a boot.
Tip He sits right on the stool. Rub out the cow lines inside him.
Step 11: Arms and hands
From the shoulder draw 2 arms reaching to the udder. End each one in a round fist on a teat.
Tip Rub out the lines inside the arms and the fists.
Step 12: Pink and peach
Colour the cow's snout and udder pink. Colour the farmer's face, ear and hands peach.
Step 13: Yellow and blue
Colour the hat, the 2 horns and the tail tuft yellow. Colour the farmer's clothes blue.
Step 14: Brown and black
Colour the stool and bucket brown, but leave the milk white. Colour the boot and the 2 patches black.
