How to Draw a Bull Charging

Step 1: Big low head

Low on the left draw a big soft head, wider than tall, with round corners, tipped a little forward.

Tip Keep it low: a charging bull puts its head down.

Step 2: Horns and ears

On each top corner draw a thick horn curving up to a point. Add a leaf ear under each.

Tip The left horn and ear are a little smaller. Each ear has a smaller leaf inside.

Step 3: Big eyes

On the middle of the head, a little to the left, draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots.

Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.

Step 4: Muzzle and ring

Under the left eye draw an egg muzzle poking past the head. Add 2 nostrils, a smile and a ring.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the muzzle. The ring hangs under the nostrils.

Step 5: Humped back

Start on the right ear. Draw a tall hump, then a long back, curl round the bottom and stop.

Tip The hump is the highest part, higher than the head.

Step 6: Reaching front leg

Start at the chest. Draw a leg reaching forward with a small knee bend, down to a hoof, then back.

Tip The leg gets thinner towards the hoof. Draw a line across the top of the hoof.

Step 7: Tummy and back leg

From the front leg draw the tummy. Then a round thigh, thin shin, a hoof and up to the bottom.

Tip The back leg is wide at the top and thin at the hoof.

Step 8: Far legs and ground

Beside each leg draw a second leg peeking out, with a hoof. Draw a ground line under the back hooves.

Tip Only a strip of each far leg shows.

Step 9: Flying tail

Start on top of the bottom. Draw a thin tail flying up and back to a leaf tuft.

Step 10: Sand horns, yellow ring

Colour the horns sand and the nose ring yellow.

Step 11: Pink ears, peach muzzle

Colour the inside of each ear pink and the muzzle peach, around the ring.

Step 12: Brown bull, grey hooves

Colour the bull brown around the pink and peach, and the hooves slate grey. Leave the eyes white.
