How to Draw Building Blocks
Draw building blocks in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: left block.
Step 1: Left block
Low on the left of your paper draw a square for the front of the first block.
Tip All 4 sides the same length.
Step 2: Right block
Right next to it draw another square the same size. They share the middle line.
Step 3: Top block and eyes
On top, in the middle, draw a third square. Give it 2 big round eyes with a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: The tops
On each block draw the top: start at the top-left corner, slant up, go across, slant down to the top-right.
Step 6: The sides
Give the top and right blocks a side: start at the back corner, go down to the bottom-right corner.
Step 7: Letter A
On the left block draw a big A: 2 slanted lines meeting at the top and a short bar across.
Step 8: Letter B
On the right block draw a big B: a straight line down and 2 round bumps on its right side.
Step 9: Star and heart
Draw a little star on top of the top block and a heart on its side.
Step 10: Shadow and ground
Draw a flat oval shadow under the blocks, then a ground line from each end out towards the edge.
Step 11: Cream and yellow
Colour the star and heart cream, then the top block yellow around them and the face. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, grey shadow
Colour the cheeks pink and the shadow under the blocks grey.
Step 13: Red and blue blocks
Go over your lines. Colour the left block red and the right block blue. Your blocks are done!
