How to Draw a Trading Card

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a trading card in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the card.

Print

  1. Step 1: The card

In the middle, draw a tall rectangle with small round corners. Draw a second one just inside for the frame.

  2. Step 2: Window and star

Near the top, draw a flat name bar and a big picture window. Inside it, draw a big 5-point star.

Tip Make the star nearly as tall as the window, with a little space above and below.

  3. Step 3: Star eyes

On the star, draw 2 egg eyes one eye apart. Add a black dot and a white shine in each.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes, draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a tiny flat oval cheek at each end.

  5. Step 5: Writing lines

Under the picture window, draw 3 straight lines across, one under the other. Make the middle one shorter.

  6. Step 6: Energy circles

Low on the card, draw 2 small circles on the left. Add a tiny circle on the name bar.

  7. Step 7: Sparkles and table

Add 3 little sparkles around the card. Draw a table line under the card, from side to side.

  8. Step 8: Pink cheeks, yellow star

Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the star yellow around the cheeks, and leave the eyes white.

  9. Step 9: Sky picture

Colour the picture window sky blue around the star.

  10. Step 10: Red frame

Colour the frame, the name bar and the energy circles red. Your trading card is ready to collect!
