How to Draw a Penguin in a Santa Hat

Step 1: Big egg head

In the upper middle, draw a big wide egg for the head.

Tip Leave room on top for the hat and below for the body.

Step 2: Santa hat

Across the top of the head draw a curved fluffy band. Add a floppy hat above it and a pom-pom.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the band. The hat flops over to the right.

Step 3: Face and beak

Inside the head draw a face patch with 2 round bumps on top. Add a small rounded beak.

Tip Keep a band of head between the hat and the face.

Step 4: Eyes and cheeks

Above the beak draw 2 big egg eyes with black dots and a shine. Add 2 small oval cheeks.

Step 5: Warm scarf

Under the face, draw a curved band from side to side for the scarf, a bit wider than the head.

Tip Rub out the head and face lines inside the scarf.

Step 6: Plump body

Start under one end of the scarf. Draw a big fat egg body round to the other end.

Tip The body is a little wider than the head.

Step 7: Two flippers

Start at each shoulder. Draw a paddle flipper out and down to a round tip, then back to the body.

Step 8: Scarf end

From under the scarf, hang one long scarf end down the front. Add a stripe near its end.

Step 9: White tummy

Start under the scarf. Draw a big U down and round the tummy, back up to the scarf.

Tip The U goes behind the scarf end.

Step 10: Feet and snow

Draw 2 wide feet with 3 round toes each under the body. Add a long snow line under them.

Step 11: Orange and pink

Colour the beak and both feet orange, and the 2 cheeks pink.

Step 12: Red hat, green scarf

Colour the hat red, leaving the band and pom-pom white. Colour the scarf green.

Step 13: Black penguin

Colour the head, body and flippers black. Leave the face, eyes and tummy white.
