How to Draw Bread
Draw bread in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the loaf.
Step 1: The loaf
In the middle of your paper draw a box with a big puffy dome on top, like a bun.
Tip A box with a big soft bun on top.
Step 2: Crust line
Start on the left side where the dome begins. Draw a gentle smile across the loaf to the right side.
Step 3: Slashes
On top of the dome draw 3 short slanted dashes in a row.
Tip Bakers cut slashes so the crust splits prettily.
Step 4: A slice
In front of the loaf, on the right, draw a small slice standing up, the same shape as the loaf.
Step 5: The crust
Start on the slice's bottom. Draw a line up and over, a finger inside the edge, stopping on the bottom.
Step 6: Holes
Dot 3 tiny circles in a slanting row in the soft middle of the slice for air holes.
Step 7: A shine
Inside the upper left of the dome draw a thin oval sliver for a shine.
Step 8: A board
Draw a long rounded box behind the loaf for a board, and a line side to side near its bottom.
Tip Stand the loaf in the middle of the board, not on its back edge.
Step 9: Cream and tan bread
Colour the slice's soft middle cream. Colour the loaf and the crust around it tan, leaving the shine white.
Step 10: Wood board
Colour the board wood brown, around the loaf and the slice.
